Bluetooth Headsets Information:

Bluetooth headsets are becoming more popular among cell phone users. Bluetooth headsets cost from $30 - $100 and come with stylish look and small sizes. Below are some recommendations on things to be aware of when you look for a Bluetooth headset. 1) A tiny, sleek earpiece can be more expensive than a Bluetooth phone itself. Moreover, smaller headset models have smaller batteries which result in a shorter talk time on a charge than the larger ones.

2) As with other portable Bluetooth devices, headsets need constant recharging. All models come with wall chargers. It will cost you extra money for a car charger which typically cost $10 to $30.

3) Most headsets pick-up wind and background noises and that can make it hard to hear the caller’s voice. Quality Headsets eliminate wind and background noise to ensure great sound quality when you're driving.

Bluetooth Headsets Types:
Wireless and wired Bluetooth headsets can be categorized into 3 main categories:
1) ear bud headsets: The ear bud headset is a headset having a wire connection to the base unit. Usually, this type of headsets includes an earpiece, microphone, and integrated call answer/termination button.

2) On-the-ear headsets (or over-the-ear headsets) are offered as one substitute to the earbud headsets. These headsets usually utilize speakers that rest on the ear in a position opposite the auditory canal, similar to the over-the-ear headsets, but have a head band extending there from that wraps at least partially over the user's head.

3) Over-the-head headset allows hands-free operation and commonly worn by telephone operators and is increasingly being worn by personal computer users for telephony over the internet, gaming, and speech recognition.

Bluetooth headset Advantages:
Bluetooth headsets are significantly more expensive than wired headsets; however, using a headset will greatly reduce the harmful radiation that you're pumping out of the phone and into your brain.

In some states (especially California), It’s illegal to hold a cell phone while driving and you are forced to use a headset to avoid getting pulled over. Even if it is still legal to hold a cell phone and drive, it is safer to avoid this whenever possible. A simple wired headset is a suitable solution for lot drivers because it’s cheap, but it literally ties you to your cell phone. The main advantage of having a Bluetooth headset is that you can have your cell phone in your briefcase on your car's back seat, and still make and receive calls. Using Bluetooth headsets can be convenient because you are able to connect with other devices such as your computer. For example, if you're using your computer for teleconferencing, you can use your Bluetooth headset for this intention, as well. You don't have to switch between one headset and the other, depending on the call that is coming in.
